Recently, the research article entitled “Polyoxygenated cembranoids from the Hainan soft coral Lobophytum crassum” contributed by Yin Fangzhou, master student jointly trained by the research group and Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, as first author was accepted by Tetrahedron. In this paper, five new cembranoids have been isolated from South China Sea soft coral Lobophytum crassum. Their structures were elucidated by DP4+ probability analysis and/or TDDFT-ECD calculations etc. The stereochemical structure of lobocrasol (6), which was announced possessing novel unprecedented skeleton, was firmly revised by X-ray diffraction analysis. This work was completed under the guidance of Professor Guo Yue-Wei and Professor Wang Hong.
