Recently, the research article entitled “Polyoxygenated Cembranoids from Soft Coral Lobophytum Crassum and Their Anti-tumoral Activities” contributed by Yin Fangzhou, master student jointly trained by the research group and Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, as first author was published in Chinese journal of Chemistry. In this paper, 12 cembranoids including 4 new compounds have been isolated from South China Sea soft coral Lobophytum crassum. Their stereochemical structures were elucidated by TDDFT-ECD calculations, modified Mosher’s method and/or X-ray diffraction analyses etc. In bioassay, the cembranoids 6, 7 and 12 showed significant anti-tumoral activity against several tumor cell lines. This work was completed under the guidance of Professor Guo Yue-Wei, Professor Wang Hong and Professor Li Xu-Wen.
