Recently, our research team and the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica jointly trained a master graduate student Zeng Zirong (the first author) has published an article titled “Sinunanolobatone A, an Anti-inflammatory Diterpenoid with Bicyclo[13.1.0]pentadecane Carbon Scaffold, and Related Casbanes from the Sanya Soft Coral Sinularia nanolobata” in Organic Letters. This article mainly isolated 8 compounds from the short-finger soft coral Sinularia nanolobata, including 3 new compounds and 5 known compounds. One of the new compounds, sinunanobatone A, has a new skeleton and is biosynthetically interesting. The article had identified the structure of two new casbane compounds through crystallographic absolute configuration and chemical communication reaction, and used ECD calculation to determine the structure of the new framework. Organic Letters is the top journal of the Division 1 of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The first unit of the article is Zhejiang University of Technology. The article instructor is Researcher Guo Yuewei, Researcher Li Xuwen, Professor Wang Hong, and the co-instructor is Researcher Zhang Haiyan.
