Recently, the article entitled “Saccharina japonica fucan suppresses high fat diet-induced obesity and enriches fucoidan-degrading gut bacteria” by Zhang Bo, a master’s student from our group, was accepted by the Carbohydrate Polymers. This article reports that a low molecular weight fucoidan, J2H, has excellent effects on preventing obesity and regulating metabolic disorders. Genome mining and Jensen-Shannon divergence analysis are used to predict the regulatory effect of J2H on fucoidan-degrading bacteria. Carbohydrate Polymers appears in the JCR Q1 with an impact factor of 9.38. His supervisors are Prof. Hong Wang and Dr. Bin Wei.
