The Ph.D. student, Wentao Wu, from our research group has recently had his paper titled "Asymmetric N-oxidation Catalyzed by Bisguanidinium Dinuclear Oxodiperoxomolybdosulfate" accepted by Nature Communications. The paper describes a highly challenging asymmetric oxidation of tertiary amines catalyzed by a chiral bisguanidinium cationic catalyst (BG). The study explores a variety of tertiary amine substrates, achieving the formation of chiral N-oxides with high enantioselectivity. Additionally, the reaction mechanism was thoroughly investigated through control experiments and DFT calculations. The Ph.D. student is supervised by Prof. Xinyi Ye and Prof. Hong Wang.
